The Purchasing Manager is responsible for supervising and managing staff in the Purchasing department.
This is a dual property role-two casinos within the brand.
- Performs functions to manage the daily operations of the Purchasing department.
- This position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and promoting a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for our guests and team members.
- Establishes, administers, and evaluates all departmental policies and objectives, including standards of performance.
- Negotiates and administers all vendor contracts and agreements for Hollywood Casino Casino Joliet.
- Manages, directs, and supervises the purchasing of materials required for daily operations of the Hollywood Casino Joliet.
- Supervises all personnel assigned to the Purchasing department.
- Maintains accurate knowledge of all inventory levels, location, price, and use.
- Provides the Vice Presidents and managers at the property with new product information and cost saving suggestions in a timely and ongoing manner.
- Maintains open lines of communication with the Vice President of Finance and all Hollywood Casino Vice Presidents and managers to ensure best pricing and terms from national distributors and manufacturers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Experience/education equivalent to a college degree with a thorough knowledge of Retail Purchasing preferred.
- 2–3 years of Purchasing experience is required.
- Must understand and speak the English language.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee requires manual dexterity to operate all necessary equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance.
