The Copywriter role supports the internal Creative Studio on the Brand Marketing team. Their primary responsibility is to support the messaging needs of our internal stakeholders for all things brand, marketing and advertising. This is a remote role.

  • Responsible for executing assigned marketing concepts through creative copywriting.  Conceptualizes and develops all copy for assigned projects.  
  • Develops and generates new, clear, and grammatically correct copy for a variety of marketing channels including but not limited to advertising campaigns, direct mail, email, websites and social.  
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to improve internal and external communications.
  • Maintains and adheres to tone of voice and messaging strategy in all communications for multiple brands.
  • Understands various customer personas and demographics for all aspects of the business and creates copy that is relevant/ specific to each audience.
  • Responsible for translating business objectives into actionable marketing messages.  Makes suggestions for improvement to current processes as necessary. 
  • Adheres to demands of production schedule and meets all deadlines.
  • Completes special projects as needed.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. 
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

  • An online portfolio or supplied examples that demonstrates creative copywriting for advertising campaigns showcasing a formal understanding creative headline/ copy development, messaging that caters to specific audiences, copy that supports design execution, consistency in tone of voice/ brand across multiple communication pieces.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in Advertising, Marketing, Creative Writing, Communications, or other related field; at least 5 years’ experience with copy writing, preferably in an agency/ advertising related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of copy development, including overall organization, direct fact checking, appropriate referring, fair balance, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Must have working knowledge of best practices for copy a variety of marketing channels including but not limited to paid media, direct mail, digital, and social. 
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have technical proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
  • Must have the ability to interact with clients and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in prioritization or schedules of items in the work queue as necessary when communicated/directed.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal marketing partners and work in a busy office environment.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and to work under the pressure of short time constraints. 
  • Must have the ability to drive results and be proactive when working on tasks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                                                    

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
