WE LOVE OUR WORK.

  • Responsible for ensuring a consistent flow of services to guest
  • Provides fast personalized guest service
  • Approaches every guest within their designated station, makes friendly eye contact and offers a warm greeting in accordance with our ACES guest service.
  • Uses guest names during interactions and remembers their preferences when applicable
  • Quotes guest an accurate response time i.e. I will be back with your order in ten (10) minutes
  • Ends interaction in a courteous way with proper closing remarks
  • Promptly and professionally assist in preparation of beverages to specifications with speed and accuracy
  • Familiarizes oneself with drink menu items, pricing, garnishing and plastic ware
  • Handles all sales transactions in accordance with departmental polices.
  • Continuously monitors assigned work station to ensure that all guests are receiving service in a timely manner
  • Ensures responsible service of alcoholic beverages to all guest and intervenes as needed in accordance to standards
  • Requires evidence of age of any guest who appears to be under the age of thirty (30)
  • Abides by laws, policies and procedures pertaining to service and sale of alcoholic beverages
  • Promptly and professionally handles guest issues and communicates problems and concerns to management
  • Provides guest with property information, promotions, programs and attractions
  • Promptly notifies designated slot personnel to service slot machines as needed
  • Ensures assigned station is clean, clear of glassware, bottles and debris
  • Carries a full tray of beverage out of service well
  • Maintains a clean, sanitized, safe and orderly work environment in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures
  • Stocks service wells in accordance to specifications with all product and supplies required
  • Maintains valid WV racing license, Food Handlers permit and TIPS certifications
  • Sets up and breaks down service well in accordance to specifications
  • Maintains a professional and neat appearance at all times in accordance to the department uniform standard
  • Displays a courteous and friendly attitude to all team members and guests

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.
  • Must be able to obtain proper Food Handler Certification, TIPs certification and TOPs certification, two comprehensive alcohol intervention programs. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.  The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  The employee is required to wear ½” high heels as a part of their uniform while on duty. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to smoke, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
