WE LOVE OUR WORK.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Steward, and Lead Stewards in all forms of cleaning in kitchens and F&B areas. 
  • The team member is responsible for bringing all F&B areas above normal health and sanitations codes. 
  • Ensure that sanitation in all food outlets meets and/or exceeds Health Department and OSHA guidelines. 
  • Deep cleaning of inside/outside of ovens, inside/outside of hoods, inside/outside of grills, inside/outside of stoves, inside/outside deep fryers, inside/outside hot boxes, inside/outside salamanders, steam tables, chafers, table and counter tops, inside/outside walk-in refrigerators and freezers, speed racks (Crescors), trash cans & trash dumpsters, glass, brass, ceilings, walls, floors, drains, fans. 
  • Deep cleaning steward needs knowledge of taking apart and putting this above equipment back together.
  • Ensure proper storage of equipment, chemicals and restaurant supplies in compliance with departmental, company and OSHA standards, in the dish and pot rooms, kitchens, mop rooms and trash dock. 
  • Report all defective and/or unsafe equipment (cooking and ware washing) to the supervisor on duty. 
  • Ensure that all discarded cooking oil is disposed of safely and securely by putting it in the proper containers 
  • Maintains valid WV racing license, Food Handlers permit and TIPS certifications 
  • You are required to follow PPE and safety guidance designed to safeguard you, your fellow team members, and guests.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, MSDS sheets, operating & maintenance instructions, and Safety Manual.  Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to differentiate between the different patterns of china, glassware and silverware.
  • The team member must frequently lift up to or in excess of 50 pounds while dismantling and cleaning kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, fryers, etc). The team member must be able to climb a ladder periodically to do high cleaning in the kitchens up to 8 feet. The team member will be required to stand for long periods. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to wet, hot, humid conditions and vibration.
  • The team member may be exposed to temperatures that range from -20 degrees to 110 degrees.
  • The team member works with extremely hot equipment at times and needs to know how to handle ones self around these conditions. 
  • The team member may be required to work in small confined areas during their shift.
  • The team member is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The team member will be required to do high cleaning related to ceiling vents, ceiling panels and light panels.
  • The team member may be exposed to areas and surfaces with high levels of soil and must be willing to work in these “dirty or messy” conditions.
  • The team member will be working with hazardous chemicals while performing his/her normal duties. This position works with hazardous chemicals very often and needs to be very responsible with the health of their selves and the co-workers that may be around the area.
  • The team member needs the knowledge to protect their self against the hazardous chemicals and needs to know measure taking to protect other co-worker around.
