ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promotes and maintains all steps of the ACES customer service program with each patron and Team Member you may come in contact with (eye contact, “hi” greeting, “goodbye” departure)
  • Interacts with guests and co-workers in a helpful, positive, upbeat, and professional manner
  • Responsible for complete set-up, stocking, and service of assigned area; sets, cleans, and resets tables
  • Full cycle of service - taking orders within five minutes of guest being seated; accurately placing orders and entering table numbers in MICROS; presents check to guests.
  • Upsells beverages, appetizers, and desserts in accordance with restaurant service standards.
  • Accurately collects payments and makes change to close out guest checks, totaling food and beverage purchases in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Light cleaning in assigned section during shift including, removing dirty dishes, glassware, and flatware during guest service, transporting to dish area, keeps floors, seating, and tables (base and top) presentable in assigned section.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and replenishing of all stock items in assigned area in a neat, accurate and timely fashion
  • Refill glassware, coffee cups, butter/condiments, bread, and carrying order to tables as required
  • Make/Fill coffee or tea as required
  • Ladles soups, portions cakes and pies, and prepares condiments as determined by establishment requirements.
  • Ensures assigned work area is neat, clean and sanitized throughout shift by wiping tables and seats, counter areas, stations (including beverage and side), and sinks as required to maintain a clean and safe work station
  • Maintain awareness of guests’ alcohol intake following training guidelines.
  • Partners with culinary team and servers to work as a team to ensure coordinated workflow during shift to meet business demands and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Maintains all equipment in proper fashion (coffee machines, soda and juice dispensers, ice bins), service stations, and refrigerators
  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding all State and company sanitation requirements (ServSafe) accordance with all MD Department of Health standards.
  • Adheres to regulatory, safety, departmental and company policies
  • Perform any reasonable, temporarily assigned job duties outside the position’s job description, where, in the Company’s judgment, those duties are necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or guest service.
  • Flexible ability to work varied shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.  High School diploma or equivalent.  Six months experience in full-service food service with knowledge of food and wine preferred. Basic computer knowledge. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and write in English and have good verbal communicating skills.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, fractions, decimals, percentages etc.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must qualify for a license with the Maryland State Lottery Agency and meet any credentialing requirements of the Maryland Gaming Control Board. 

 

They must possess Serv-Safe or equivalent certification, with a comprehensive understanding of all food safety and sanitation requirements.  Must be able to obtain a Responsible Alcohol Training certification. Must be able to obtain proper Food Handler Certification
