  • Responsible for assisting the VP or Marketing in directing the overall operations and staff of the department including Advertising, Promotions, Database, and Charitable. Develops, implements, and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives in all areas of responsibility.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the annual marketing plan for the properties that support the overall brand strategy for the company.
  • Responsible for assessing, anticipating, and reacting to the competitive marketplace regarding marketing strategies, programs, campaigns, and promotions. 
  • Builds long term relationships with customers to strengthen the brand value.
  • Ensures that scheduling is done in an effective and efficient manner to support all marketing initiatives while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and achieving guest satisfaction.
  • Responsible for preparing, monitoring, and adhering to budgets and ensuring compliance with departmental budget initiatives. Reports budget concerns / deviations to the VP of Marketing.
  • Communicates with multiple departments and external guests regarding, including but not limited to, guests with bad addresses, rating issues and/or duplicate accounts.
  • Manages the direct marketing expenses while adhering to operating budgets.
  • Provide support, input, and feedback regarding all Marketing initiatives and all related functions.
  • Creates proformas for select marketing promotional programs for analysis purposes.
  • Manages external vendors to coordinate the development of creative and printing/production.
  • Manages website updates.
  • Promotes positive public relations internally and externally.
  • Monitor all public relations activities and working closely with all managers to ensure consistent and effective media relations and community awareness.
  • Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
  • Perform any reasonable, temporarily assigned job duties outside the position’s job description, where, in the Company’s judgment, those duties are necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or guest service.

  • Prefer a four- year degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in fast-paced, high volume marketing environment preferred. Gaming Industry preferred.
  • Proven managerial and critical thinking skills required, must be able to multi-task, remain organized, and pivot to address challenges on the fly.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Mississippi Gaming License required for the position.
  • Must be proficient with personal computer and software spreadsheets inclusive of Excel, along with Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and database querying tools such as Microsoft Access, SQL, or Tableau a plus.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                                                    

This job will have supervisory responsibilities.

  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regard to performance.
  • Provides recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning, and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Manages work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employees must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
