The Director of Sales (Dual Property) position oversees all aspects of the sales function, driving revenue growth and ensuring alignment with the property’s strategic objectives for Hollywood Casino Aurora & Hollywood Casino Joliet.
You are responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees, promoting and retaining a highly skilled workforce. The incumbent in this position is responsible for administering the Sales function in accordance with established policies and procedures to ensure achievement of sales and revenue goals and provision of quality service to customers; develops sales leads for group bookings to provide the Chicagoland properties with business consistent with targeted clients and volume level in restaurants and banquets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and books future business by identifying potential leads and actively soliciting future business within specified territory.
- Negotiates and quotes rates and agreements on all Conference Center and Hotel business to maximize revenues for the Conference Center, Hotel and the Casino. This involves detailed follow-up to ensure a smooth transition from arrival to departure of guests.
- Monitors, tracks and produce daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly productivity and revenue reports for all Conference Center events. Maintain the integrity of the client database. Completes a pre-designated number of outside sales calls per week and submits a detailed activity report of all sales activity for that week including copies of all sales call reports.
- Manage all financial operating expenses including, but not limited to, budget, P&L, labor costs, controllables, and cost of goods.
- Ensures that the Sales Managers attend each function with the idea of meeting and greeting each client, and conducting introductions to the operations team that will be assisting them with their event.
- Maintains knowledge of competitor’s sales and convention programs, including reader board monitoring at area hotels and convention centers, in order to generate future leads and to be aware of the caliber of service delivered at our competitors.
- Maintains knowledge of all promotions throughout the property in an effort to stimulate and retain new business. Maintain communication and rapport with customers to ensure the utmost quality customer satisfaction.
- Implements, adheres, and monitors all department and property policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, standards of conduct, attendance, appearance, cash handling, confidentiality, safety, signature sequence of service, and sanitation.
- Maintain the morale of the department through open communication and teamwork by deploying targeted communication strategies that inform and build support. Supervise all aspects of employee relations including, but not limited to, hiring, coaching, mediating, recognizing, and evaluating Team Member performance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university, MBA preferred.
- Five (5) years proven experience in outside convention sales/hotel sales, particularly in the Chicagoland area.
- Strong problem solving, mediation, coaching, and consulting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills for variety of target audiences
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
- Strong project management skills, managing multiple simultaneous projects
- Fully competent in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Prior experience with Delphi, Social Tables and Sertifi are a plus.
- Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
