ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists F&B Outlet Manager to ensure efficient sanitary and pleasant service for all guests
    Oversees scheduling, breaks, floor plans, training, evaluating, counseling, team members on assigned shift
  • Exhibits a friendly and helpful and courteous manner when dealing with customers and fellow team members
  • Administers the overall activities of the front of house restaurant operations and beverage operations 
  • Establishes and administers training programs within the assigned restaurant and lounge 
  • Counsels, guides and instructs personnel in the proper performance of their duties
  • Directs the development and administration of controls for all phases of the restaurant in an economical and profitable manner while maintaining established standards 
  • Assists in the maintenance and development of procedures for food service and inspects menu items for maximum customer satisfaction
  • Supervises staff on shift and ensures proper staffing levels in order to provide high standards of service with minimum labor hours 
  • Ensures that available facilities are adequate for performance of duties by assigned personnel 
  • Maintains and instructs assigned personnel on safety policies and procedures, and follows up to ensure that hazards are eliminated 
  • Monitors appearance of food served and communicates deviations from standard 
  • Performs assigned input work in compiling annual budgets 
  • Prepares and coordinates the periodical performance reviews of assigned personnel 
  • Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to the company
  • Any and all duties as assigned by your Manager or a member of management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two - three years related supervisory or managerial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous supervisory experience in a full service restaurant preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Must be able to obtain an ABC License.  Must successfully complete ServSafe Alcohol training certification course.
  • Ability to offer all guests a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere while dining.
  • Must have the ability to balance a cash register and calculate labor costs.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the team member is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and taste or smell. The team member is occasionally required to sit. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Must be able to stand a full shift.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                        

  • Responsible for staff development and training programs.
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regards to performance.
  • Provides recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
  • Manages work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Provides recommendation for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, and counseling).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

 

Must successfully complete ServSafe Alcohol certification course training.

 

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Penn National Gaming’s auto insurance carrier.
