ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides support to customer base including installing, upgrading and repairing servers, workstations, printers, networking and phone equipment. Monitors and maintains appropriate security procedures to safeguard systems from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users and damage to data. Helps install and customize LAN instruments; prepares new hardware and software products while following, monitoring and maintaining adherence to policies and procedures.
Survey performance needs and goals of LAN users. Develops and monitors appropriate security procedures to safeguard systems from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data. Helps install and customize LAN instruments to allow personal computers to retrieve and enter information from Servers/Mainframes/SAN (Storage Area Networks). Prepare new hardware and software product evaluations for management. Develop Server/Mainframe/SAN backup policy and procedures. Verifies that backups are completed as outlined in the backup policy and contains the intended backup information.
Assist IT department to resolve problems
Serves as an effective member of the IT team working closely with the Network Administrator, IT Specialist/Programmer and other IT support and technical staff. Maintains daily logs and completes Help Desk tickets with proper documentation.
Interacts in a friendly and professional manner with other employees, guests/patrons and vendors.
Demonstrate expertise in a variety of IT concepts, practices and procedures. Plan and accomplish goals relying on extensive experience and best judgment. Stay informed on new technologies with a view towards integrating them into the Company’s IT strategies.
Provide consultation on complex projects as a top-level contributor / specialist. A large degree of creativity and latitude is required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in computer science is preferred with 2 to 3 years of work-related experience in computer support in a large network environment, OR equivalent combination of education/experience.
Demonstrable knowledge or experience with IT systems including Microsoft applications, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Cisco LAN/WAN administration, IBM iSeries/AS400 operations.
Additional demonstrable knowledge or experience in other IT related areas is preferred, such as IBM iSeries/AS400 operations; Microsoft SQL Server; Cisco LAN/WAN administration; converged voice/data networks (VOIP).
Proficiency in Visual Basic, C++, Java, ASP, HTML and other development technologies is preferred.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
