SUMMARY

The Revenue Manager is responsible for maximizing room revenue at Penn owned hotels for properties within a specific region and will be responsible for managing both internal and external relationships to help drive appropriate demand to the hotels. The incumbent is responsible for the management of room inventory, market mix, and pricing strategy. They will also work closely with the Director of Revenue Management (RM) to set RM strategy and implement RM initiatives for their region, in keeping with the overall Penn corporate RM strategy.  This is a remote position.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for actively building and retaining property level relations and provides superior service to both internal and external Revenue Management clients.
  • Understands department objectives, standards, guidelines, and budget to achieve effective supervision of department.
  • Maximize overall casino and hotel revenue for all hotels in the Penn portfolio, but specifically for the specified region, through the development and implementation of effective inventory controls and processing strategies based on future demand forecasts.
  • Understands department objectives, standards, and guidelines
  • Establish goals to consistently achieve or exceed forecasts from room revenue, occupancy, Average Daily Rate and Revenue per Available Room.
  • Formulates, prepares and communicates yield management data for executive review, offering recommendations for revenue maximization when feasible.
  • Develops and maintains corporate share-points where all reports and documents will be stored for property distribution.
  • Prepares various managerial reports for executive review.
  • Monitors functionality of systems and interfaces, maintains communications with ETL staff for development and enhancement of systems
  • Works with Revenue Management leadership to define, plan, and manage specific analytics projects to enhance the information available to the Revenue Management department
  • Perform exploratory data analysis on projects to help identify data issues and develop initial hypothesis for the project
  • Partner closely with all related departments such as, planning and analysis, direct marketing, sales, casino marketing, digital marketing, and mychoice to help guide overall strategies and tactics as appropriate
  • Assist in the development, testing, and implementation of predictive models
  • Develop and manage data quality and data governance standards and practices
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing reports for VP of Revenue Management including but not limited to forecast versus actual reports that report occupancy and revenue and room and suite counts to monitor inventory and rate.
  • Utilize a variety of historic reports, pacing, segmentation, and pricing reports to enhance the forecasting processes
  • Assists in development and modification of reporting strategies to maximize opportunities for consolidation and streamlining property operations
  • Assist in evaluating new technologies and software to improve tracking and streamline processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university in Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology or related area; two or more years of direct use experience with business intelligence querying software and database analytics such as customer segmentation, test and control methods, pro/post forma analysis and traditional analytical methods to achieve required ROI. Experience working in a marketing or analytical function within the gaming industry is preferred, but not required.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
  • Must have technical proficiency and knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer).
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to drive toward results.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and to work under short time constraints.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                                                     

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
