Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.   1. Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  2. Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
  3. Prepare detailed incident reports in a clear and precise manner.
  4. Responsible for providing guidance and daily supervision to staff in the department. Supports and administers operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.
  5. Adheres to scheduling and coordinates with manager any scheduling concerns, with attention to guest satisfaction.
  6. Coordinate emergency situations.
  7. Evaluate the performance of officers and provide direction, coaching, counseling, and recognition to ensure successful performance.
  8. Patrol the property on assigned shift, identifying potential security and/or safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate persons, to ensure the safety and protection of guests, employees, and the entire facility.
  9. Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  10. Act as a representative of the property, interacting with guests and employees in a courteous, professional manner.
  11. Work flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the operation.
  12. Secure inventories and maintain lost and found records and items.
  13. Always promote positive public/employee relations.
  14. Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  15. Safeguard the confidential information of all employees, department, and company records.
  16. Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  17. Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED required, or three years of casino Security, military, or police experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications. 
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.   
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. 
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                    

This job may or may not have supervisory responsibilities. 

 

  • Responsible for staff development and training programs. 
  • Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement. 
  • Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regards to performance. 
  • Provides recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs. 
  • Manages work procedures and expedites workflow. 
  • Provides recommendation for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, and counseling).
