Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. • Responsible for starting all pari-mutuel, qualifying, and schooling races
• Stay in constant communication by reporting step-by-step racing announcements with the State Commission’s Presiding Judge
• Upkeep and maintenance of all starting gate equipment
• Practice teamwork with all personnel in the racing program, including commission employees and horsemen
• Ability to work in both fast and slow paced environments
• Responsible for training back-up starters when necessary.
• Regular and predictable attendance required and ability to work nights, weekends and holidays per Racing scheduling.

• Anticipated August 1, 2025 start date
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two (2) year starting experience at a Pari-Mutuel track
• Must have a valid USTA Pari-mutuel Starter’s License.
• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
