As a Laundry Room Mechanic you are responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The incumbent is also responsible for the performance of the following types of laundry maintenance work: electrical, plumbing and mechanical. Responsible for repairing mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment; installs and repairs all equipment including but not limited to: flatwork iron machine, towel-folding machine, washer/extractors, dryers, lint collector, air dryer and boiler.

• Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
•  Repairs and maintains equipment areas, mechanical devices, motors and pumps.
•  Examines and performs preventative maintenance for equipment and completes logs for recordkeeping.
•  Responds to requests for maintenance assistance in order to provide courteous, timely and expert service.
•  Schedules service to machinery such as repair or routine maintenance with vendors.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of wet/humid conditions, heat and noise, the severity of which depends upon work volume. Incumbents are at times subjected to hazards such as chemicals. Proper precautions are taken.
• Ability to use all equipment associated with the position.
• Ability to inspect equipment and perform all associated record keeping.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine repairs through use of equipment manuals.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently move around laundry area.
• Requires the ability to twist and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Ability to repair and maintain flatwork ironer machine, towel-folding machine, washer/extractors, dryers, lint collector, air dryer and boiler.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying noise levels, the severity of which depends upon work volume.
• This position requires physical mobility and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Effective communication skills.
• Ability to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.
• Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
• Must be able to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, hand and power tools and testing equipment.
• Prior laundry experience preferred.
