Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities include: 

• Greet guests promptly with a warm smile and positive attitude.
• Deliver service with enthusiasm and professionalism.
• Maintain knowledge of all accepted payment methods.
• Operate the register and computer systems proficiently.
• Stay informed about menu items, pricing, hours of operation, and daily specials.
• Keep the cashier station clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Cross-train in host responsibilities to support team flexibility.
• Follow safety procedures to ensure the well-being of both guests and team members.
• Submit all cash and accounting paperwork neatly and accurately following company procedures.
• Consistently present a polished and professional image.
• Label all food items accurately before delivery.
• Be familiar with current coupons and their expiration dates.
• Interact with guests and co-workers in a courteous, efficient manner.
• Answer phones and handle reservations with professionalism.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Maintain a respectful and positive work environment.
• Assist in training new team members to meet or exceed Ameristar Casino’s service standards.

• Basic math and money-handling skills.
• Understanding of food service etiquette and standards.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• A passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
• Experience operating cash registers and basic computer systems.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods (4+ hours).
• Well-groomed appearance and professional demeanor.
• Proficient in reading and writing English to ensure effective communication.
