ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Welcome and direct guests as they approach the box office
  • Operate the box office during show nights in a professional and efficient manner
  • Manage each artist’s guest list as indicated in the contract
  • Distribute promotional or VIP passes to individuals
  • Make changes quickly to guest list on day of show
  • Identify faces/names on a red list provided by the artist’s management team
  • Sell tickets to walk-up customers and distribute will-call tickets
  • Verify guest identification before releasing tickets to the appropriate party
  • Accurately process credit card payments and comped tickets
  • Award ticket package add-ons, such as food coupons and PENN Cash
  • Use ticketing software to locate and manage reservations or ticket orders
  • Answer guest inquiries related to ticket availability, seating, and show details
  • Communicate clearly with event and security staff regarding guest check-ins
  • Maintain an organized and secure box office area throughout the event
  • Assist with end-of-shift reconciliation and reporting
  • Provide information about the venue layout, show schedules, and amenities
  • Monitor guest activity to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment
  • Support basic setup, takedown, or clean-up tasks as needed
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and event leadership

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High school diploma or GED required; one year of customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Marketing experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with our guests.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                                                    

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

For every year of employment, Employee must:

  1. Obtain and maintain a license by the WV Racing Commission and WV Lottery.
  2. Successfully complete and maintain certification in the Beverage Service Program (TIPS) as may be required for this position.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
