Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. SUMMARY

The Vice President of Rewards Strategy is responsible for developing and driving the strategic direction of compensation, benefits, and wellness programs that align with the Company’s goals, support employee engagement, and attract and retain talent. This position partners closely with executive leadership, ensuring our compensation, benefits, and wellness programs are meaningful, competitive, and innovative.

 

 

  • Develop and implement a competitive and comprehensive compensation, benefits, and wellness strategy focused on talent attraction, engagement, and retention in alignment with the Company’s overall strategy.
  • Drive core benefits programs and processes, including executive benefits, core and supplemental benefit programs, health and welfare, ancillary offerings, and voluntary benefits programs (e.g., identity theft, pet insurance, legal, etc.).
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in compensation, benefits, and wellness programs, and present actionable insights and implementation recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Leverage data analytics and market intelligence to guide decisions, monitor trends, and assess the effectiveness of compensation, benefits, and wellness programs; collaborate with Corporate Human Resources to drive systems optimization and reporting.
  • Communicate, educate, and market our comprehensive programs across several audiences (e.g., HR teams, leadership, and front-line team members).
  • Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the Company by serving as a trusted advisor, delivering timely insights, and consistently exceeding expectations. 
  • Lead the timely and expert delivery of broad-based compensation, benefits, and wellness programs (e.g., annual merit increases, open enrollment, etc.) in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation and benefits policies, guidelines, and procedures, recommending plan revisions, as well as new plans, in support of the strategic plan.
  • Oversee the design and administration of long and short-term incentive compensation plans with a focus on attraction and retention.
  • Design and implement strategies that enhance service delivery, create efficiencies, and improve team member experience, focused on an evolving workforce.
  • Oversee vendor partnerships, negotiate services, and manage costs.
  • Oversee the annual compensation planning cycle, including salary planning, market analysis, and incentive plan design.
  • Ensure all programs are financially sound and comply with all regulatory requirements in partnership with legal and finance teams.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS   

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree (B.A./ B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or minimum of ten years of experience in a comparable leadership position; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Must have extensive, hands-on experience leading compensation, benefits, and wellness programs in similar large industries.
  • Effectively present industry-specific and/or technical information to a variety of audiences, including Senior Executives. 
  • High degree of business maturity and ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, and solve problems quickly.
  • Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and strong attention to detail.
  • Previous gaming/hospitality industry experience preferred.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                    

This job has supervisory responsibilities. 

  • Responsible for developing team members and participating in development/ training programs.
  • Maximize engagement through rewards and recognition programs.
  • Provide leadership and direction that contributes to the success of the organization through engaging, developing, and mentoring team members within and outside the department. 
  • Evaluate team members within department and deliver timely and constructive feedback to enhance performance.
  • Recommend staffing changes (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning, and monitoring work) that meet business needs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS  

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. 

 

REASONING ABILITY  

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Team member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations. 

 

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving history as determined by PENN Entertainment's auto insurance carrier. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
