 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Supervise and manage staff in the Planning & Analysis department. Develop, implement, and oversee operational goals, monitoring performance and profit objectives.
  • Lead short- and long-term financial analysis for the property, including labor and financial data reporting.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in business planning and analysis.
  • Create efficient schedules that balance labor costs, staffing needs, and deadlines.
  • Assist in the departmental budget process, provide recommendations, ensure compliance, and report concerns to management.
  • Calculate marketing program profitability and analyze results to identify opportunities for improved efficiency. Present findings to the executive team.
  • Compare actual results to budget and prior year, summarize key findings, and present recommendations to improve EBITDA.
  • Develop presentations for budget meetings and operational reviews.
  • Present and discuss analyses with senior executives at both corporate and property levels.
  • Maintain and distribute key operating metrics to evaluate performance against company objectives.
  • Monitor labor costs and identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Perform database queries to extract data for analysis.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analyses as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Gaming Commission regulations, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Promote and uphold superior customer service standards. Address service issues and ensure departmental goals are met.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and report potential issues to Executive Management/GM.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of two years of casino experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, including formal presentations to executives.
  • Broad knowledge of accounting and financial analysis.
  • Experience with report writing software preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Financial modeling experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Oracle ERP, Tableau, SQL, Salesforce, and other relevant systems preferred.
  • **Must qualify for all licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations in Nevada and New Mexico**

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee staff development and training programs.
  • Manage rewards and recognition initiatives to enhance employee engagement.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Make staffing recommendations, including interviewing, hiring, and scheduling.
  • Establish work procedures and optimize workflow.
  • Handle employee performance management, including coaching and discipline.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules and procedure manuals.

Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.

Capable of solving problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
