The security assistant shift manager is responsible for supervising and managing staff in the security department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates effective and efficient schedules
- Responsible for assisting in the budget process
- Responsible for the overall achievement of departmental customer service goals
- Ensures response to medical emergencies and completes illness/injury reports when necessary
- Promptly reports and remedies any legal/compliance measures
- Develops, enforces, reviews, and approves changes or revisions to operating practices, procedures, and standards based on business practices and internal controls
- Develops and implements alternative methods for Security operation improvement
- Examines and analyzes the physical property, processes, and procedures and develops, institutes, oversees, and enforces emergency policies
- Serves as liaison with gaming regulators, public law enforcement, fire, and other agencies as it relates to Security by maintaining a positive and constructive relationship
- Conducts, supervises, and prepares reports relating to investigations of any losses or violations of law, regulations, policies, or procedures
- Provides escorts as needed
- Testifies in court when necessary
- Protects and preserves the assets of the company
- Responsible for staff development and training programs
- Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement
- Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees regarding performance
- Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning, and directing work) to meet business needs
- Determines work procedures and expedites workflow
- Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling)
- Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within area of authority and reporting potential issues to Executive Management/GM
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent; 5-7 years of Casino Security experience; or two years of Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience that demonstrates qualities of sound judgment and dependability; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least three years of leadership experience highly preferred
- Must be able to run on level surfaces, as well as up and down stairs
- Basic computer knowledge; proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include email use, incident report data entry, and report writing
