Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary. 

  • Responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department by providing recommendations; ensures compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reports budget concerns to manager. 
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with departmental and company standards and programs. 
  • Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. 
  • Responsible for the overall achievement of departmental customer service goals. 
  • Generates maximum sales revenues from social markets, meetings and conventions, corporate groups and associations, and rooms, or catering-only groups. 
  • Generates maximum sales revenues from day trip and overnight bus groups. 
  • Assists the Casino Revenue Manager with weekly/monthly reports and budget forecasts for Group Sales. 
  • Tracks and reports sales revenue. 
  • Establishes weekly call pattern that will generate new accounts and service existing accounts for new and return business. 
  • Generates new and return group and hotel business via sales calls, telemarketing, sales blitzes, FAM, tradeshows, and written correspondence. 
  • Cooperates and works with Casino Marketing and Player Development staff in sharing leads and/or any other activity that will generate new business. 
  • Cooperates with other departments to communicate with and service patrons promptly. 
  • Works closely with the Hotel, Reservations, Food & Beverage, and Entertainment departments to accommodate guest event and planning needs. 
  • Prepares and submits timely call reports to management. 
  • Manages travel and entertainment expenses and submits these reports on a timely basis. 
  • Achieves sales goals established with Casino Revenue Manager 
  • Represents the company during marketing, special, and community events and for marketing, special, and community-oriented activities in both local and external markets. 
  • Coordinates exhibits setup and development and represents property at tradeshows. 
  • Oversees the material distribution in the market to increase awareness of product and services. 
  • Ensures efficient greeting and club enrollment of all arriving group patrons. 
  • Develops sales tools, collateral, kits, etc. 
  • Oversees the billing and collection of all Sales Groups; posts charges and payments accordingly. 
  • Prepares and distributes daily and weekly reports for various departments affected by all group business. 
  • Conducts Pre-Con and Post-Con meetings accordingly with client and team members. 
  • Is available for nights and weekends and attends meetings as needed. 
  • Performs duties in a safe manner; reports any potential safety hazards to management staff. 
  • Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within area of authority and reporting potential issues to Executive Management/GM. 
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Finance, or related area required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 3-5 years of Casino, Sales, and/or Marketing experience required. 
  • Experience managing a Casino Marketing function preferred. 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English. 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. 
  • Must have exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills. 
  • Must have technical proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). 
  • Strong client interface and presentation skills preferred. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. 
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. 
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
  • Must have demonstrated ability to drive toward results. 
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization. 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES                    

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required. 

REASONING ABILITY  

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations. 

Must obtain a First Aid/AED certification.  Must successfully complete alcohol awareness training. 

Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Penn Entertainment’s auto insurance carrier

STARTING SALARY

$75,000 to $78,750 annually, depending on experience
