The Security Assistant Shift Manager is responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of a designated shift in the security department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adheres to scheduling and coordinates with manager regarding any concerns, with attention to guest satisfaction
- May be responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department by providing recommendations; supports compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reports budget concerns to manager
- Serves as the Security Manager on duty in the absence of the Security Shift Manager
- Enforces internal control policies and procedures including but not limited to underage gambling and drinking laws
- Maintains safety and inspections reports for the property
- Conducts regular Security post inspections
- Prepares Security incident reports and maintains Security logs
- Responds to guest and employee concerns and complaints and solves their problems with professionalism and compassion
- Ensures Security Officers adhere to uniform dress and grooming standards consistent with departmental and company policies
- Interacts and cooperates with regulatory, fire/rescue, and law enforcement agencies
- Responsible for staff development and training programs
- Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement
- Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees regarding performance
- Provides recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning, and directing work) to meet business needs
- Manages work procedures and expedites workflow
- Provides recommendation for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, and counseling)
- Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within area of authority and reporting potential issues to management
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma/GED; one year of Casino Security experience or two years of Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience that demonstrates qualities of sound judgment and dependability; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic computer knowledge; competent in Microsoft Office applications, email use, and incident report data entry preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
