Summary:

The Gram & Dun bartender is a key player in delivering a memorable dining experience at our esteemed restaurant. This role emphasizes exceptional guest service, focusing on attentiveness, professionalism, and an in-depth understanding of our culinary offerings. The bartender collaborates with the entire Gram & Dun team to ensure smooth operations and upholds the highest standards of food and alcohol service quality. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to hospitality excellence, guest satisfaction, and adherence to safety and hygiene protocols.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Embrace the company’s hospitality standard, including greeting guests and co-workers, smiling, making eye contact and using names.
  2. Greet guests warmly with a smile, eye contact, and a welcoming demeanor, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated.
  3. Arrive on time for shifts, fully dressed in appropriate uniform and adhering to grooming standards.
  4. Welcome guests to their seat, present menus, and explain daily specials and unique menu items.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized service area, ensuring all necessary utensils, glassware, linens and alcohol are available and in pristine condition.
  6. Assist in setting up and resetting the bar in accordance with Gram & Dun standards, ensuring a polished and inviting dining environment.
  7. Know the menus thoroughly to answer questions, make personalized recommendations (including drink pairings), and inform guests about specials.
  8. Extensive knowledge of the food, drink, beer and wine menus. Must be able to pair drinks with food. Must be able to pass a written test.
  9. Retrieve, prepare, display, sell and serve products to customers including but not limited to alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  10. Pour, mix or prepare ingredients such as liquor, soda, water or fruit juice to prepare beverages as ordered including drawing from taps or pouring from bottles.
  11. Ensure that garnish items are adequately prepared and stocked including proper preparation of such items as lemons, limes, olives, celery and cherries.
  12. Deliver food and beverages to bar guests promptly, ensuring they are served at the correct temperature and meet any dietary needs.
  13. Address special guests requests politely and efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely order submissions to the kitchen.
  14. Promote and upsell additional menu items to enhance the dining experience.
  15. Monitor guest satisfaction, promptly addressing any issues or concerns with a solution-orientated approach.
  16. Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  17. Ensure that all stations are set up in a correct manner.
  18. To ensure that your assigned side duty is completed before and after dinner service as specified.
  19. To check with your guests and ensure the food and service is to the satisfaction of the guest, and take necessary actions, if needed.
  20. Communicate effectively with management and colleagues to ensure smooth service operations.
  21. Occasionally perform duties that will assist with customer satisfaction including but not limited to, seating, bussing and expediting tables, food and drinks.
  22. Complete deposits at the end of each shift as required.
  23. Preform tasks to ensure an attractive patron dining area associated with Gram & Dun including removals of trash and debris from tables, chairs and floor.
  24. Attend all departmental and company training programs or meetings as directed.
  25. Compile information, complete and submit reports as needed.
  26. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  27. Adhere to all gaming laws and regulations.
  28. To handle with extreme care for all equipment, especially while transporting chinaware/glassware prior, during and after service to minimize breakage and maintain cost control.
  29. Any reasonable requested job duty needed to promote productivity in the efficient administration of business or any reasonable request made by your management personnel.

Qualifications Requirements

To preform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Each serve must deliver consistent, top-tier service that creates remarkable dining experiences for guests, exhibit excellent communication, guest service, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with guests. Gram & Dun servers will demonstrate the ability to multitask, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, posses thorough knowledge of the food and beverage menus, including specialized items and pairing options. Must be at least 21 years of age.

 

Educations and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must pass a written test.

Language and Communication Skills

 

A Gram & Dun bartender requires strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with guests and staff, product knowledge of menu items and pairings, technical skills for POS systems, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Other key skills include attention to detail, patience, physical stamina, and basic math skills, while proficiency in English is essential, with additional languages being a plus.

 

Mathematical Skills

A Gram & Dun server needs basic arithmetic for totaling bills and making change, proficiency with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems for processing orders and payments, and skills in cash handling and currency calculation for accuracy and efficiency.

 

Reasoning Ability

Reasoning ability for a Gram & Dun bartender encompasses critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment to manage complex situations, anticipate guest needs, and maintain a high standard of service. This skill goes beyond simply taking orders; it involves making smart decisions quickly and effectively in a demanding, high-end dining environment

 

Licensing

Must be able to qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by local, state or federal law.
