Senior sports book representatives may only work in the capacity of a Sports Book Representative or fulfill the regulatory required duties of a supervisor (assistant sports book manager). When acting as a Sports Book Representative, this position will report to another Senior Sports Book Representative or Assistant Sports Book Manager. When acting as a Sports Book Representative, this position will not fulfill any duties of a supervisor responsibilities.  A Senior Sports Book Representative may not be assigned to work as both a Sports Book Representative and fulfill the duties of a supervisor during the same shift and may only switch from a Sports Book Representative to Assistant Sports Book Manager or Assistant Sports Book Manager to Sports Book Representative once per shift. 

 

  • Writes, verifies, and makes payments on tickets for sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensures compliance to applicable jurisdictional gaming statues and regulations.
  • Maintains a cash bank for his/her shift, responsible for accepting payment and making correct change when necessary.
  • Stocks Sports book Writer/Cashier's stations with adequate supplies; keeps all stations neat and clean.
  • Writes Sports tickets in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Makes payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verify tickets and payoffs.
  • Maintains and reconciles bank for assigned shift, following established cash-handling policies and procedures
  • Explains wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests
  • Provides superior customer service in accordance with Company standards.

 

When performing the regulatory required duties of a supervisor, this position reports to a Casino Operations Shift Manager or above and:

 

  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.  Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. 
  • Effectively handles customer concerns and requests.
  • Assists with responsibility of the overall engagement of all team members on their shift by addressing and managing team member feedback, suggestions, complaints, and grievances.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
  • Assists in the handling of all guest related matters with positive outcomes on disagreements in a consistent, professional manner to ensure return visits.
  • Closes out tellers at the end of their shifts, ensuring that all money and supporting documentation has been accounted for and secured appropriately.
  • Verifies cash drawers, complete reports, rate casino customer activity, and monitor sports book for suspicious activity
  • Prepares and stocks all the daily sports sheets.
  • Ensures compliance with currency transaction requirements, Title 31, and money laundering and Suspicious Activity Reporting for Casinos (SARC) requirements.
  • Explains wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests as needed.
  • Notifies leadership team of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity.
  • Approves and denies wagers from guests as permitted.
  • Updates and maintains all customer sheets.
  • Monitors all monies being wagered and updates the betting odds according to policy.
  • Handles guest disputes quickly and effectively within the level of their authority.
  • Assists with training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling employees.
  • Promotes safety awareness to minimize work related injuries.
  • Maintains knowledge of property information.
  • Responsible for complimentary privileges within prescribed limits in accordance with the approved Comp Matrix.

  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • High School Diploma/GED and one year of casino experience; minimum of two years of experience in Sports or related customer service experience and/or training in a high-volume, cash handling; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
