Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. WE LOVE OUR WORK.

As a Housekeeping Manager you are responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees, promoting and retaining a highly skilled work force.  The incumbent is also responsible for managing the Housekeeping Department to ensure the effective, efficient, safe and overall cleaning maintenance of L’Auberge Lake Charles Hotel. 

 

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

(The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.)

  1. Hires, trains, motivates, evaluates, and manages staff to ensure employees receive adequate guidance and resources to achieve established objectives.
  1. Establishes, implements, and monitors department objectives, standards, guidelines, budget, and other administrative processes to achieve proper management of department and understand the relationship between a client and its contracted services
  1. Collects data and information through inspections and testing in order to file reports to appropriate regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations.
  1. Inspects hotel utilities and equipment and takes action to correct problems in order to minimize potential for violations during on-site safety inspections by OSHA.
  1. Provides expertise, direction, and labor and equipment resources, including monitoring of all hazardous Materials located within the property in event of hazardous waste spill to ensure that cleanup procedures and results are in compliance with regulations.
  1. Performs Daily hotel room inspections to ensure the consistent quality of room preparation and effectiveness of existing systems.
  1. Assists guests with issues that are beyond the control of supervisors, ensuring guests' satisfaction while operating within established guidelines and policies
  1. Conducts inspections and makes recommendations for necessary repairs in order to ensure cleanliness and proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
  1. Manages Foreign Labor program assuring proper procedures are followed with all Foreign Labor team members under the H2B petition

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be able to use a computer, calculator, etc.

Must be able to review and comprehend all necessary documentation including SOP’s.

Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, as well as all levels of employees.

Operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise, vibrations, smoke, hazards and wet/humid conditions.  Proper safety precautions are taken.  Incumbents are at times subjected to hazards such as chemicals.

  • Effective communication skills required. 
  • Demonstrated record of high achievement and ability to interact effectively with others essential.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Prior experience in preparing and administering budgets, financial reports, and capital expenditures.
  • Knowledge of chemical and stain removal products and processes and their effect on fabric; knowledge of fabric care.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in production analysis.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials disposal regulations required.

STARTING SALARY

Salary Range $50,000 to $60,000 based on experience
