Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. SUMMARY
The Steward Lead coordinates the daily operations of the stewarding team to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and efficient kitchen operations. This role maintains high standards of hygiene, safety, and organization while supporting culinary staff and delivering exceptional service.
Supports and coordinates the daily activities of the stewarding team
Ensure proper cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations
Monitor dishwashing, pot washing, and garbage disposal processes to maintain efficiency
Inspect kitchen areas for cleanliness and compliance with safety and health regulations
Train, mentor, and support stewarding staff in operational procedures and safety protocols
Assist with inventory control, including tracking cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen tools
Coordinate with culinary team to support kitchen operations during high-volume periods
Enforce company policies and procedures, including food safety, OSHA, and sanitation standards
Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to management
Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, chemical usage, and staff performance
Must be at least 21 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in stewarding or kitchen operations; supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge of sanitation standards, OSHA regulations, and kitchen safety protocols
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management
Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
