SUMMARY

Responsible for the efficient operation of the poker room.  Maintains the integrity of the poker wait list; makes accurate and clear chip and cash transactions; and adheres to all company and department policies and procedures; West Virginia Lottery Commission regulations; and in accordance with Internal Controls.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

    • Greet players and manage the poker waitlist
    • Seat guest into games quickly and accurately
    • Start and maintain poker games based on demand
    • Track players using the table management system
    • Assist supervisors and dealers to keep tables running efficiently
    • Explain promotions, rules, tournament information, and answer player questions
    • Execute cash to chip transactions with guests and facilitate table fills
    • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs
    • Ensures behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards
    • Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff
    • Maintains complete confidentiality of all company information at all times
    • Participates in meetings and training as required
    • Performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner and reports safety hazards immediately
    • Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience                                                   

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Comfort using computer-based systems for data entry and communication.

 

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from supervisors, managers, fellow employees and/or the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills                                         

Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.  

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must obtain licensing with the West Virginia Lottery and Racing Commissions every year of employment as required by our regulators.

 

Other Qualifications                                        

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate. Speaks clearly and politely; responds well to questions; and, contributes to building a positive team spirit.  Must be diplomatic and tactful. Previous customer service experience preferred.
