Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. JOB SUMMARY:

  • This position is responsible for source selection and procurement functions directly associated with the Company's needs for indirect materials and services. In addition, this position coordinates item specifications with departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring bid procedures are followed in compliance with procurement goals.
  • Communicating with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Assisting in the communication and disposal of overstock items
  • Communicating regularly with supervisor and internal customers
  • Focusing on continuous improvement of quality assets and services
  • Managing and maintaining product sourcing and bid searching
  • Assisting in cost control and savings program
  • Assisting in diversity spending initiatives
  • Assisting with vendor pending payment resolutions, onboarding, and invoice processing procedures
  • Assisting with contract food alignment goals
  • Ensuring that all products are properly transferred, and documentation is maintained using procurement platform
  • Participating in continuous product and system trainings
  • Communicating all relevant information to supervisor and the internal customers
  • Ensuring financial delivery of the agreed upon savings goals to be established for each functional area within procurement
  • Ensuring the compliance of all regulatory guidelines within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to the Regional Director of Procurement
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
  • Communicating and supporting corporate-program initiatives at property level
  • Performing other duties as assigned

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Success In This Position Requires The Following Skillset:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED AND one to three (1-3) years buying, expediting, and other directly related purchasing and hospitality experience preferred
  • Associate's degree in related field, preferred
  • Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of materials, products, and the commodity market in area of specialization
  • Skill in preparing and analyzing complex technical specifications, bids, and proposals
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software to include pivot tables and VLOOKUP
  • Procurement and inventory software experience preferred
  • Possess excellent active listening skills
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Skill in exercising independent judgment using deductive reasoning to make sound decisions and taking initiative.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally, in writing, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and timelines simultaneously: work in fast-paced environment, be self-motivated, and detailed-oriented
  • Ability to resolve problems and/or conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety, operating and maintenance instructions, and standard operating procedures manuals
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations pertaining to the position.
  • Ability to expedite instructions provided in written, oral, or pictorial format.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, weekends, holidays, special events, as needed
  • Must be able to report to property daily. (non-remote position)

Preferred Skillset:

  • Knowledge of Slot operating systems.
  • The ability to interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must qualify for a license with the Maryland State Lottery Agency and meet any credentialling requirements of the Maryland Gaming Control Board.
